Save the Dates! Flexibility Benchmarking Summit April 4, Bootcamp May 9 & Annual Conference November 2
In response to member feedback, the Alliance launched this study to track the progress of workplace flexibility in U.S. law firms and to address the need for more holistic data on flexible work usage. The study examines the types of flexibility and leave policies implemented, how well they are utilized, how working flexibly affects promotion and leadership opportunities, and the types of support available to those who work a flexible schedule or take an extended leave.
2022 Law Firm Flexibility Benchmarking Survey
The 2022 Law Firm Flexibility Benchmarking Survey examines the types of workplace flexibility, hybrid and leave policies that law firms have implemented for employees and the types of support available for those who work flexibly/hybrid.
A report will be published in 2023 for Alliance members and survey participants containing industry trends, best practices and insights learned, which organizations can leverage to make meaningful changes and publicize their successes.

Our 2019 Law Firm Flexibility Benchmarking Study consisted of a series of one-on-one insight interviews with law firm leaders and talent professionals about the challenges and what’s working around flexible work and parental leave.
This year’s study provides supplemental research to our previous Law Firm Flexibility Benchmarking data in order to gain multilayered information in these areas.
All interviews were held over the phone and took approximately 45 minutes. This research initiative was open to member as well as non-member firms.
The 2019 Law Firm Flexibility Benchmarking Study is available to members and non-member participants. Members can access the report and the Executive Summary in the Member Resource Center. “By participating in the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance’s Flexibility Benchmarking Survey, Ogletree Deakins was able to analyze existing policies and pinpoint where they could be improved. Using the Alliance’s recommendations from our customized report, we were able to provide our Board of Directors with concrete action steps for advancing our commitment to flexibility and diversity, including implementing specific changes to our reduced hours policy and by creating two new Reduced Hours Advisor positions.”
