Flex Success™ Leadership Institute -Spotlight on Verna Myers
As we prepare for the upcoming Flex Success™ Leadership Institute, we will be featuring the industry experts who will guide participants from high potential to high performance.
This week, we are pleased to feature Verna Myers, Founder and President of the Verna Myers Company. Verna will guide participants in developing effective tactics that can be used to interrupt bias, with a special emphasis on recognizing and overcoming the stigma attorneys working flexible schedules face.
With her team of exceptional consultants, The Verna Myers Consulting Group (VMCG), Verna has helped hundreds of organizations in the for-profit, non-profit, academic and government arenas create and sustain inclusive environments where traditionally underrepresented groups can thrive.
Verna’s visionary speeches, appearances and transformative message of power and possibility have touched three-quarter of a million lives including her inspiring TED talk, “How to Overcome Our Biases? Walk Boldly Toward Them,” which offers three ways any person can become an active participant in countering racial bias. She is also the author of the best-selling books Moving Diversity Forward: How to Move From Well-Being to Well-Doing and What If I Say the Wrong Thing? 25 Habits for Culturally Effective People.
Verna is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Barnard College, Columbia University. Prior to establishing The Verna Myers Company, Verna was the first Executive Director of The Boston Law Firm Group, served as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Attorney General of Massachusetts (1997-99), and practiced corporate and real estate law at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP.
The Flex Success™ Leadership Institute is an interactive leadership academy designed specifically for Senior Associates, Of Counsel, and Junior Partners seeking to move from high potential to high performance.
